What we do

As a family business trading since 1979, we recognise our responsibility in safeguarding the environment. Our purpose-built factory is a testament to our commitment to sustainability. Here are some of the key initiatives we’ve implemented:

Environmental sustainability

Solar Power:

Our factory is equipped with 555 solar panels, generating 116,368 kWh of energy annually. This reduces our CO2 emissions by 54,693 kg each year.

Energy-Efficient Lighting:

We have installed LED lighting, which provides a 55% energy reduction compared to fluorescent lights. Additionally, sensors and daylight dimming contribute a further 25% energy savings.

Smart Lift Technology:

Our lifts are designed to use the minimum amount of energy required.

Water Conservation:

Integrated sensors help minimise water waste throughout our facility.

Building Management Software:

This software monitors critical equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

Ventilation Systems:

Our energy-efficient ventilation systems recycle heat when extracting air, further reducing our energy consumption.

EV Charging Points:

On-site electric vehicle charging points help all-electric vehicle owners double their commuting range at both our Bradford and Newcastle sites.

Electric and Hybrid Fleet:

We continue to expand our non-commercial fleet, which currently includes 16 electric and hybrid vehicles.

High-Efficiency Rating:

We are proud that Dalesman House is rated highly efficient and has been awarded a Grade A SBEM score.

Mixed Recycling:

All offices have mixed recycling points to encourage employee sustainability.
