Dalesman’s Sustainability Credentials
Back to NewsAs a family business that has been trading for over 40 years, we understand the importance and the responsibility we hold in protecting our planet’s resources.
Following the devastating fire in 2017, we designed our new manufacturing, technical and warehousing site, in Bradford, to ensure we could meet our commitment to reduce the environmental impact that our business activities have.
We actively continue to find ways in which we can reduce our impact, and this video features the steps we’ve taken so far, these include:
- Installation of 555 solar panels which provide 116,368 kWh of energy and reduce our CO2 emissions by 54,693kg each year.
- LED lighting provides a 55% energy reduction over fluorescent sources. A further 25% reduction is achieved from sensors and daylight dimming.
- Smart lift technology ensures only the minimum amount of energy is used when in operation.
- Integrated sensors minimise water wastage.
- The building management software is engineered to monitor critical equipment and ensure operational efficiency.
- Our energy efficient ventilation system recycles heat when extracting air.
- On-site EV charging points help all-electric vehicle owners double their daily commuting range.
- We continue to expand our non-commercial fleet of 13 electric and hybrid vehicles.
- We are proud that Dalesman house is rated highly efficient and has been awarded Grade A SBEM score.
